Your documentary can inspire local efforts:
For example, though our documentary ‘No Boundaries’ was filmed with Jamaican and Belizean fishermen, fisherfolk globally have been impacted after watching it by emotionally identify with similar struggles and issues they face in their own country. The video has helped them to take action, knowing they are part of larger efforts globally.
To create an excellent documentary or video:
- Decide on its message, purpose and how it will be used.
- Be specific in its message. Don’t try to accomplish too much by listing too many accomplishments or too many problems and issues.
- Find a compelling character or host where appropriate. People like watching people. Find someone who is passionate and involved who can share their story and can convey the emotional power behind your message and your organization’s activities and goals.
- Define your audience and distribution
- Make sure you have a distribution plan before beginning. (South Shore Productions can help in this area if needed)
